This minimalistic coffee table is reinforced with keyed-miter joinery.  Built out of 2" thick hard maple it's design and wood fiber arrangement allows for the top surface to be cantilevered out up to 3 feet while being able to support a static weight of 300lb without additional support. This design allows for out of the way but with in reach storage directly under the top. It sits on four low-profile non-skid feet.
